'Tis visible silence, still as the hour-glass, Deep in the sun-searched growths the dragon-fly Hangs like a blue thread loosened from the sky:-- So this winged hour is dropped to us from above.

Therapy for New Parents

Pregnancy and parenting can be very complicated times. Joy and love are coupled with enormous changes that often result in confusion, fear, physical changes and/or redefining relationships.

I specialize in working with women and couples who are beginning or in the middle of this transition. New mothers particularly often find psychotherapy to be an invaluable resource during this time of life. Many issues can potentially get triggered for women as they become mothers, as their bodies change, and as their priorities shift. This sort of upheaval can be both wonderful and scary, and having a consistent, supportive place to focus on oneself can make all the difference.

What are some areas of potential focus during this time of life?

  • Mindfulness and Relaxation
  • Fears and Anxieties
  • Relationship concerns and changes
  • Physical changes
  • Parenting styles and choices
  • Career changes
